I thought almost the same when I entered into E.Eng. I didn’t mind computers, but I didn’t want to learn any programing languages, nor did I think I would have too. I also loved physics.
Since then I have learned a plethora of programming languages, and have spent 70% of my time using/learning about computers. Sometimes I wish I entered into Mech or plain physics. Too late now.
There is no difference between electronic and electrical engineer. They both earn the same degree called Electrical Engineer. The material is all exactly the same.
At least it is where I’m from.
A college where you can earn a Technology Certificate will have an electronic engineering program. That would equal about 2 years of a electrical engineering degree.
You can . But Dear you will have to use computer for advance calculations, design and Stimulation Tools.
Electrical Engineer is a broad field. Electrical Power, everything from generation, sub station distribution, building power and load design, EMS, motor control, transformers..etc.
Electronic Engineer deals more with the computers, programming, voice and data communications, lasers, TV’s,…. basically anythng that uses components like diodes, IC chips, capacitors, and such.
Everything requires some use of computers now-a-days.
You have to learn some programming to be a Electrical Engineering, but only a few courses.
Stay away from Computer Engineering if you hate programming.
