Engineers turn ideas into practical solutions. That is, engineers turn ideas into reality. They work from some basic theory and come up with a practical solution to needs, so they are involved in both theory and practice.
I know because I am an engineer.
Engineering deals in both worlds – Theory and practice. A theory or educated guess is made based on known information. Then that theory or hypothesis is applied in the real world.
He applies the academic knowledge to practical everyday circumstance. A pencil is a cheaper way to write notes in outer space as the Russians shoewd the Americans. I have no favourites either way
